we have a winner!!!

whiz boy surprised us all with the bracket victory!! and yes, i know the tournament is not over, but no one can catch him! he does have one team, uconn, left in the final four. he also won with the lowest score in jgl bracket history! so today, he was awarded his dq blizzard and certificate by his 2 uncles. i think he might have been a bit proud. and while uconn was his pick to win it all - my boy is rooting for the butler bulldogs! what hoosier couldn't?

true confessions...

...i am a bit of a pioneer woman wannabe!!! i don't go there daily, but about once a week i head over to visit her with a cup of coffee in hand. she cracks me up as she shares about her life on the ranch. but mostly, i love her recipes! i currently have 5 pans of her cinnamon rolls in the freezer. i've made several different things and the family always gives two thumbs up. a few months ago, i grabbed my coffee and sat down to check in with her. in searching through some older recipe posts i found this one for rosemary butter rolls i knew i'd have to give it a try. of course i consistently forgot the main ingredient each and every week. how hard is it to forget frozen rolls? apparently it isn't very hard. well, on friday i threw some random ingredients into the crockpot to whip up some warm soup. i headed to the store with whiz boy in tow, and this time, i remembered the rolls! so home we came and i pulled out my new to me iron skillet, plopped those rolls ...

Laura Story - Blessings

so this morning i was having a bit of a pity party for myself. i've been dealing with intense dizzyness off and on since november. i had finally found that therapy was working and had a week of feeling "normal." due to finances and insurance nightmares i had to stop the therapy. this week the dizzyness has slowly returned to where it feels crippling yet again. this morning the drive to school was hard. the lights and busy traffic make the dizzyness worse. i had just dropped the kids off and was heading back to town to do a few errands before going to work. this song played - by verse two i was in tears! just had to share and i will cling yet again to this: Isaiah 41:10 (from the Message) Don't panic. I'm with you. There's no need to fear for I am your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.

gotta love him!!!

doesn't this just about melt your heart???? i love this man of mine. princess had a small 2nd grade award ceremony today at school. she knows i go to most of those things, but last night she let me know i wouldn't need to come because she had invited daddy instead. well, okay then. and guess what?? he went:) here we just look cute....it had been awhile since he'd pulled off a surprise, but fiddler on the roof might be one of the best!!! here he is proving to us that an eagle flew over his head on our little hill. okay, dear! i will say it was a rather large bird unlike any others we see perched in that faraway tree. you can tell what i prefer to watch though:) i just find him cute! it takes a great dad to head out in the freezing temps to teach his princess how to ice skate on our icy lane. i stepped out long enough to take the picture! this man of mine....i love how hard he works for us. i love that he makes time for his kiddos. i love that most nights we spen...

from the kitchen...

chicken bruschetta bake if you know me, you know my great distaste of tomatoes. i usually pick the tomato chunks out of my sgetti sauce. yes i just called it sgetti!! i eat all the chunks of my salsa, except the tomatoes. but over the past few years i've gotten a bit brave and will eat small pieces of tomatoes in fresh salsa and in this dish as well. i hadn't fixed this in probably over a year. but a few weeks ago i pulled out my recipe file to find some old favorites. i found this and realized i had everything in the pantry. that's a deal!!!!! i did have to switch out the diced tomatoes because my can was crushed instead. i prefer the diced but this worked just as well. the kids loved the chicken, but not so much the topping. this was great as leftovers, too. i ate it for lunch the following two days. 1 can. (12.5oz) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 pkg. stove top stuffing mix for chicken (i use aldi brand) 1/2 cup water 2 cloves garlic, minced 1.5 pounds skinless...

enough is enough

this morning i woke up and well, i know i was tired, but i felt pretty happy. i got the kiddos up and we headed off to school. as i was driving home something inside me just switched and i was mad. i started telling God my "hate list"... ...i hate that what is rightfully ours is gone ...i hate that that person will never have to suffer those consequences of stealing ...i hate that we are broke ...i hate that i feel dizzy ...i hate that our car is broke ...i hate that we are always cheated out of something and on and on and on it went. i just cried and by the time i had pulled back in the drive way i shouted "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, GOD!!!" after this amazing one-sided conversation i gave him a chance to respond. i am kind like that. and you know what He said? are you ready for this?? "You are so right!" well, thank you very much, God! I know I'm right..... my hubby came home and seemed to notice my "righteous frustration" and i didn't sa...
