round up...

it has been quite awhile since i last blogged...life has been busy, quite busy. let me catch you up with where we have been.

the kids and i ventured to tampa, florida for some spring break fun with my parents! we had a great time taking in bush gardens, the zoo, the aquarium, the beach, strawberry shortcakes, shuffleboard, games, and classic cartoons. we delayed our trip home a day, but nevertheless returned back to snow and cold. boo hoo! well, okay, so i was ready to see my husband after 10 long days. apparently, he was too well taken care of by a host of young men...

returning home found me catching up on work i missed, hubby catching up on work that he didn't do, and the kids struggling to catch up on sleep! but we are back in a routine and life just keeps going....

there's been snow and spring sunny days. our daffodils are in bloom. the hyacinths have opened up and the tulips have popped out of the ground. the kids have been outside and i've sat on the porch and read books. we've also dug out our hats and mittens and bundled up on cold mornings.

mapboy watched the march madness tournament intensly and we cheered on those big ten teams....oh well....maybe next year.

we, okay, hubby figured out our taxes which were quite complicated this year!! but just another way that God shows us His faithfulness - yes, even through taxes!

so that is what i've been doing...it sure doesn't seem like a lot, but it sure has been busy. i'm looking forward to a weekend of slowing down and being present and enjoying our family together.....

the "calling"

okay - so it's been awhile since i've ranted...and it's time! it is beautiful outside and i'm sitting inside my makeshift office at the church. i am lucky enough to have a door that opens to the outside so it is wide open and i'm loving that. but as i'm working here today i feel the need to rant so enjoy.... being in my position i often have to ask people to help out. you know, volunteer to teach or work in the nursery or teach or hang out with the kids, you know - volunteer! i love all the responses i get. i am particularly fond of the "i don't like kids one" - it doesn't go over real well with me when they have 3 of their own. hmm??? but the one that really gets my goat is the "i don't feel called to that." argh...really!?!?!!?!? well, i didn't feel called to wipe my kids bottoms either, but it is a good thing i did it anyways. surprisingly, everyone feels called to the waterpark though! now, let me back up a ...
