in process

it's been one adventure after another out here on sycamore hill...but there is progress!!!
here is my laundry closet. the set will hopefully be installed by mid-week!!! the wall color is woodsmoke and very nice!

here is hubby's office - well just the corner of it. he has the cutest little fan you ever did see, but he doesn't like me calling it cute and i just noticed it is cut out of my picture. boo:(

and here is my kitchen.....it is painted and where it isn't is where the cabinets will be. a friend hooked up my stove, but i've yet to use it. although next week i plan to cook and maybe even bake!!!! i need to hunt down all my pots and pans though. there were packed in a do not need box!


this is a picture of our flooring....let's just say, there is quite a mess that we aren't happy about so last night hubby started cleaning our floors. can you tell where he cleaned? i love these floors!


and here is emily......our snowgirl friend! princess and i headed out for some sledding and snow girl making on our recent snow day.

Looks like your kitchen is progressing faster than our kitchen. Our contractors couldn't make it the last two days because of the snow. Week one of __ without a kitchen or first floor, a toddler stuck at home, and 7.5 months pregnant. I need a 4 week vacation.

This is so fun to find your blog. My friend Kelly Yoder pointed me to yours. We are also living in a fixer-upper. It's so fun to see progress that comes from hard work. Our kitchen is looking a lot like yours right now...sometimes I feel like I'm camping! :) Good memories though, I'm sure. Blessings to you.

the "calling"

okay - so it's been awhile since i've ranted...and it's time! it is beautiful outside and i'm sitting inside my makeshift office at the church. i am lucky enough to have a door that opens to the outside so it is wide open and i'm loving that. but as i'm working here today i feel the need to rant so enjoy.... being in my position i often have to ask people to help out. you know, volunteer to teach or work in the nursery or teach or hang out with the kids, you know - volunteer! i love all the responses i get. i am particularly fond of the "i don't like kids one" - it doesn't go over real well with me when they have 3 of their own. hmm??? but the one that really gets my goat is the "i don't feel called to that." argh...really!?!?!!?!? well, i didn't feel called to wipe my kids bottoms either, but it is a good thing i did it anyways. surprisingly, everyone feels called to the waterpark though! now, let me back up a ...
