where i've been???

it has been almost a week since i posted. and since so many of you want to know the play by play of my life i'm offering a recap today.

last friday - well....you read that for yourself! great day!

saturday - i won a jousting contest, rode a bull for 13 seconds, lost my race in the obstacle course, and rocked at laser tag! did i mention i was at a children's ministry event?????

sunday - left the family at home and went to church alone. sent the good doc over to see hubby, picked up prescriptions and lunch, came home and started to crash myself. couldn't even make it up to watch pride and prejudice!!

monday - sent everyone to school and work and felt myself slowly go down hill. wait, by bedtime i was a mess!!

tuesday - had a fever, princess had an earache, mapboy went to school. princess and i got prescriptions and slept. okay, i slept, she played. then i mustered energy to go to a church meeting - bad idea!!

wednesday - mapboy screams at 2 am his ear is hurting - wakes up again at 6:15 and cries all day. doc sees him and finds a really bad ear infection. we are now all four on antiobiotics - all different - all different dosages. not good for a sick momma!!

and now today....mapboy was excused for today from school..oh boy since he is acting so much better. by that i mean - he is quite active!! i feel better - although still rather sinusey (is that a word). but my parents flew in from florida to attend a funeral today so we are all having dinner tonight, and yes, before you ask, i AM taking mapboy who will not be at school today to dinner at pizza hut!!

so there you have it folks...my week in review!!

oh wait...did any of you catch the eclipse last night??? it was pretty cool around here!!!

Wow, you guys have been slammed with sickness and snow this winter. Praying that health and spring come soon!

How much snow have you guys gotten this year? We are expecting 3-4 inches tomorrow, but probably haven't even had 3-5 inches the entire winter.

me, on politics

i despise politics. i never liked it, but i married a man fascinated with it. a man who wanted to be part of it all...and was, briefly. boy were our eyes opened... anyways...it seems like this election has several hot button topics. one of which is universal healthcare. my cousin started a blog called politics for mom and there have been several heated debates going on. i was reading several comments on healthcare. and frankly i was bothered! now, i don't know that a strict universal healthcare is the answer, but i do know that we have now doesn't work for the average person. here is our story.... hubby worked in a small business - 3 employees at the most that i can remember. we paid 1/2 our insurance..until it came to the point where our half each month was twice what we would pay if we were on our own. but for the owner it saved him money. so he agreed to cover ours in full. we were very grateful. i also know at times, that because of the healthcare cost, it was a struggle f...

the "calling"

okay - so it's been awhile since i've ranted...and it's time! it is beautiful outside and i'm sitting inside my makeshift office at the church. i am lucky enough to have a door that opens to the outside so it is wide open and i'm loving that. but as i'm working here today i feel the need to rant so enjoy.... being in my position i often have to ask people to help out. you know, volunteer to teach or work in the nursery or teach or hang out with the kids, you know - volunteer! i love all the responses i get. i am particularly fond of the "i don't like kids one" - it doesn't go over real well with me when they have 3 of their own. hmm??? but the one that really gets my goat is the "i don't feel called to that." argh...really!?!?!!?!? well, i didn't feel called to wipe my kids bottoms either, but it is a good thing i did it anyways. surprisingly, everyone feels called to the waterpark though! now, let me back up a ...
