they're here!!!!

this is not how i left my house this morning. in fact, i wanted to take a picture of kitchen set-up #2. it was really quite a nice set-up my hubby did! very functional and i was pleased. but i came home this afternoon to my kitchen being moved to the dining room and boxes everywhere!!!!!!! as you can see....the cabinets are in and some are going up RIGHT NOW!!! isn't she pretty? i can turn each shelf by itself. look there are four drawers in the picture. i am used to only 1 drawer....what will i ever do with so many drawers? see those boxes above....i think i'll be able to start putting them away - maybe even tonight, although with idol, the olympics, and a very important mom's morning talk to prepare the box emptying may just have to wait! if you look closely you can find the red trim paint we sampled....i can't wait for the full effect ahh.....did i mention the countertops won't be installed until the 27th at the earliest and that i'm not without a kitchen ...

in process

it's been one adventure after another out here on sycamore hill...but there is progress!!! here is my laundry closet. the set will hopefully be installed by mid-week!!! the wall color is woodsmoke and very nice! here is hubby's office - well just the corner of it. he has the cutest little fan you ever did see, but he doesn't like me calling it cute and i just noticed it is cut out of my picture. boo:( and here is my kitchen.....it is painted and where it isn't is where the cabinets will be. a friend hooked up my stove, but i've yet to use it. although next week i plan to cook and maybe even bake!!!! i need to hunt down all my pots and pans though. there were packed in a do not need box! this is a picture of our flooring....let's just say, there is quite a mess that we aren't happy about so last night hubby started cleaning our floors. can you tell where he cleaned? i love these floors! and here is emily......our snowgirl friend! princess and ...

inside my journal...

...what on earth have we done? this is crazy. at times i feel like it is exactly right, other times i feel overwhelmed and out of sync. i think those feelings rise to the surface when i can't find certain comforts. or when i miss saying hi to my neighbor over our fence. ...i drove by the old house for the first time today. i thought i'd be sad, but not really. then i noticed on the next drive by that the curtains were pulled down. ugh....hubby really did rub off on me with window treatments. ...princess seems sad again at bedtime. it is funny to me that she misses her closets when those were what always scared her at night. i guess there is comfort in the sameness, even if it is scarey. she did better though...only a few times of calling me. ...these stupid lady bugs might get the best of me. why do they bother me so? the house is completely torn up and dust is everywhere, wallpaper is falling from the walls, stuff is in boxes, yet it is the lady bugs that make it ...

the move....

you see this stud above...he worked like a mad man for 7 days!! i love him and love seeing him but... these studs really made me happy to see!!!! this is the beginning of the kitchen! this is the upstairs....we actually worked like crazy and got these rooms finished BEFORE the move! the blue is princess', the yellow is the toy/landing area, the red - mapboys (still need to change his name!) we painted ceilings, walls, trim, and floors in about 5 days!!! this friend is still smiling, after 3 hours of painting ceilings! her pose makes me want to sing "chim chimney, chim chimney, chim, chim, cheeroo!" finally!! moving day! we had a great crew show up to move the big stuff.

me and my friends....

don't we all look good??? someday we will grow up, or maybe not!

it's my birthday!!

my daughter took this picture....i look pretty good for getting older! here i am celebrating my 4th birthday - 31 years ago today! funny how i so remember the table cloth, green pitcher, dishes, and hot pads. i have had some great birthday's in my life. i remember my mcdonald's birthday complete with the talking tree. i remember the first slumber party and how awful it was! i remember birthdays with my dear friend that shares the day with me. i remember my college friends dragging me out of bed at the most horrific hour in the morning to treat me to breakfast for my 21st. i also vividly remember the birthday 12 years ago. i was a little bummed. played some pool with a friend and had a few glasses of "cranberry juice." then i proceeded to spot this guy i found cute because of how he made his morning coffee at the coffee shop i worked at. well, i literally came literally running out of the children's department to chase him down. he didn't really recognize me, b...

a look back.....

i'm feeling a little nostalgic this weekend..... i was grand champion with my chocolate crinkles as a first year 4Her.... i can't believe i went to the state fair in a one piece romper.....goodness who knows where this is, but i was proudly wearing my school colors! okay, sunken gardens, but i don't know where that is. fishing with my big sister! i don't have a clue where we were, but i look proud of that fish coloring easter eggs...sometime before 1980...my dad had hair, my mom just sold those canisters, and i was pretty cute huh?
