chubs

isn't he cute????? let me tell you about this guy...
his name is chubs and i got him in the 7th grade. i loved this bear. i like to cuddle so i started sleeping with him. i took him everywhere i went.
he went to college with me. he was greatly loved there.
then i took him to camp. he loved camp life. he loved the teepees, the wagons, the fort. he loved the kids that would be nice to him. he even really started to like the sweet friend i made there. until she kidnapped him! yes, chubs was the victim of a horrible crime...horrible. for several days he was held hostage by the oklahoma wagon girls! i was beside myself. thankfully, they were merciful, and my wagon load was helpful, and he was rescued and safe in my bed.
then came my trip to europe. well, since he wouldn't fit in my bag with everything else he needed to stay home. i was worried about him. my hubby, fiance at the time, took great care of him. chubs resided on his bed for 3 months. i was eager to see him when i returned and he was once again safe in my bed.
then we got married...and he remained safe in my bed. silly huh? well, hubby likes to cuddle - for about 10 minutes. and frankly after that he gets too hot for me. so i still needed chubs. when i was pregnant he kept me breathing okay.
but then i met dear friend. she thought i was kidding about chubs. but he came along on our womens retreat. i thought he would be safe in my bed...but no....dear friend kidnapped him. only this time i found him stuck in a freezer. another horrible crime. poor old chubs. she thought he was gross....i don't get it!
so he was once again safe in my bed here at home. then princess started getting scared at night. she wanted mommy...so i gave her chubs to take my place. she grinned and slept snuggled tight for several weeks. i was a bit sad to leave him in her bed. i thought it funny that she saw the significance of chubs in my life.
but a few weeks ago...i found chubs back on my bed. i asked princess about it and she looked at me and said he scared her!! what!! i'm sure dear friend got to her...but that is princesses' loss!!
and alas...chubs is once again safe and snug in my bed......
i love this guy!!
oh...for your info...there was an article in parenting magazine sometime that says it is okay for mom's to have security binkies too....mine is chubs!!!

I can't believe you have him back....thought for sure that being without him for awhile would cure you of this insanity! :)

btw...won't be going for coffee tomorrow either...my little guy is still sick :(

I guess Bryan's the jealous type. He wouldn't allow Holland Chosun (my bear) in bed with us. He hid him and did other horrible things to him. But Bryan's not much of a snuggler, either. Maybe I should unpack Holland and bring him back to bed....

Aw Chubs, I do remember him! I am glad to see he is still doing well. Grant greatly enjoys my Elmo now. I am sorry Chloe does not appreciate him.
